Features

Everything the simulation can tell you.

Fire runs one deterministic simulation of your financial life, year by year. Every screen below is a different way of reading it.

One simulation, many lenses
Every view reads the same year-by-year output. Move the year slider and the chart, the stat panel, and the cash-flow diagram all land on that year.
The dashboard is the editor
Accounts, income, expenses, assets, and flows are all editable inline under the chart. There is no separate edit mode to switch into.
Strategies are layers, not edits
Tax strategy, textbook withdrawals, and flexible spending sit on top of your plan and reset in one click. Your underlying numbers are never overwritten.
Everything quantifies its impact
Strategies and comparisons report before-and-after deltas — lifetime taxes, net legacy, chance of success — not just a new total.
What you get

Built now, and being built next.

Fire is shipping in the open. Everything tagged live runs today; everything tagged planned is designed and on the way.

The plan dashboard
Live

One interactive chart with a year slider running to age 120. Drag it and the side panel re-reads that year: net worth, liquid net worth, withdrawal rate, effective tax rate, savings rate, and the portfolio allocation behind them.

Milestones
Live

A milestone fires the first year its conditions hold — an age, a date, or a financial metric like 25× spending. Chain conditions together to express “FIRE, but only once the house is paid off,” and every chart marks the year it lands.

Streams, flows, and accounts
Live

Salaries with raises, part-time wind-downs, pensions, Social Security, rental income, windfalls. Each carries its own growth model, tax treatment, and start and end. Surplus routes through your contribution priorities; shortfalls draw down in the order you set.

Taxes and assumptions
Live

Federal brackets, state tax, FICA, ACA subsidies, RMDs, and Social Security taxation estimated for every simulated year. Return, inflation, dividend, and yield assumptions are all yours to change — nothing is hidden behind a black box.

Track progress against the plan
Live

Journal your actual net worth over time and see it against the projection, so you learn early whether the plan is holding or drifting.

Plots and the plot builder
Planned

Forty-plus built-in plots — stacked net worth, spending flex, withdrawals, taxable income, allocations, liquidity, change in net worth. Build custom plots from any combination of metrics; they follow you across every plan.

Cash flow, traced
Planned

A Sankey diagram of a single simulated year: income sources into inflows, then out through taxes, expenses, and contributions into destination accounts. Follow one dollar from paycheck to portfolio.

Tax analytics
Planned

Lifetime totals or a single year, split across income, taxes, rates, deductions, and credits. Switch between a composition view and a rates view to see which income is taxed at which rate.

Chance of success
Planned

Monte Carlo over your plan, sampling historical S&P 500 and US inflation sequences or normal distributions you define. Success and failure are yours to define too — legacy thresholds, or surviving a given share of the plan.

Optimize
Planned

Roth conversions that fill a bracket, withdrawal shielding under a bracket or IRMAA cliff, gain harvesting in 0% capital-gains years, drawdown ordering, and rule-based flexible spending. Test hundreds of combinations and apply the one that wins.

Compare plans
Planned

Overlay any two plans on the same chart and read per-metric deltas side by side, so the difference between retiring at 52 and 55 is a number rather than a feeling.

Reports and estate
Planned

A year-by-year table across every metric, exportable to CSV, JSON, or PDF. Estate view resolves gross estate, estate drag from taxes and admin costs, and what actually reaches your heirs.

See what your own numbers do.
